A4 graphite pencil drawing

Hector The Hare

Hector the Hare is an A4 graphite pencil drawing. I have drawn this hare in an expressive photorealist manner to show the pencil marks and express the texture of the fluffy but scruffy fur that he has.

I love how they always seem so invincible and care free

Why did I draw Hector?

As a young child growing up I lived on a farm where I spent most of my time cycling and playing in the countryside. Hares were frequently seen running across the stubble in the fields after harvest, or away from the combine whilst I was riding in it alongside my dad. I love how each hare has such dominance as well as very individual characters.
